Nintendo – First Earnings Drop in 6 Years

May 06 2010 Published by Richard under General

On Thursday, Nintendo reported that annual earnings have dropped for the first time in six years. The Wii maker reported a profit of 228.6 billion yen ($2.5 billion) for its fiscal year that ended March 31. That’s an 18 percent decline from last year. Sales also slipped 22 percent year over year to 1.4 trillion yen ($15.4 billion).

Nintendo blamed the weaker financial performance on several factors, including a recent price drop on the Wii, fewer strong Wii titles, appreciation of the yen, and poor global sales.

Both Sony and Microsoft plan on releasing motion-sensing controllers in 2010.

Sony originally said it would introduce the controller this spring, but is now delaying the release of its new motion-sensing controller for the PlayStation 3 game console until autumn.

Can The Nintendo Wii Fit Really Make You Lose Weight?

Dec 21 2009 Published by Richard under General

Amazingly, there is only one console game that has been on the top 5 list since its release. This video game is the Wii Fit for the Nintendo Wii. Released in May of 2008, the Wii Fit has never been dislodged from the top 5 position in almost all sales charts around the world. In fact, the Nintendo Wii’s bestselling game has even grabbed the number 1 spot in many occasions when there are no high profile games being released.

One would have to ask, what is it about the Nintendo Wii Fit that makes it such a highly coveted video game title?
